On the nose, an orchestra of blackberry and dark cherry notes dances gracefully with hints of toasted oak, vanilla, and subtle spices. With each sip, my palate was treated to a velvety symphony of flavors, including ripe plum, mocha, and a touch of licorice. The well-integrated tannins provide a silky structure, leading to a long, elegant finish that lingers harmoniously on my taste buds.

The story of Wente Vineyards dates back to 1883 when Carl H. Wente, a first-generation immigrant from Germany, purchased 48 acres of land in Livermore Valley, California. He had a vision of crafting exceptional wines that reflect the region’s unique terroir. His passion for winemaking was passed down through four generations, with Karl D. Wente now at the helm as the Fifth Generation Winemaker. Karl, alongside his siblings, continues the family legacy, blending traditional winemaking practices with cutting-edge techniques to produce wines that are true expressions of their land.
